I’m not sure that I learned anything from this book. How could I when the author hardly ever makes a point? This was used in my “Introduction to Philosophy” course. At first I read all the chapters required, but by the end of the course I realized it was wasting my time and I learned more accurate information by listening to the lectures and reading facts on Wikipedia.
how can i get directv to honer the promis made of a free Honer Accordion DVD player.?
i had 2 accouts so far and still no free gift that is why i canceled my accounts.

Healing is not only medicine.
Today when we talk about healing we are usually referring to medicine that has to be taken in one way or another. Healing can take place in so many ways and on different levels:
• Physical Healing
• Mental healing
• Spiritual healing
Many of our problems start on the mental plane where we have believes about ourselves and the way we view life. We were told things by our parents, teachers, church or friends that formed our life and become a self fulfilling prophesy.
Changing your past and your future.
Whatever you did in the past will have an effect on the future and if your actions in the past was not of the highest intention you can be sure it will come back to you in one way or another. Honer Accordion The choice is yours what to do with it:
• Deny it
• Fight it
• Admit it
Both denying and fighting something you did will not bring you any happiness. If you have the guts to stand up and face your problem you also have the best chances to heal it as well.
I remember when I was a small boy in school and I poked a hole in one of the balls belonging to the school. It took me a long time to decide to go and tell the teacher that it was me who had done the damage. To my big surprise the teacher did not even get mad. Lesson learned - Tell the truth!
You can not undo what is done already but you can certainly change the future effects of what will happen to both yourself and other people. By telling the truth you will heal both the past and the future.
A world of change
Look at what the world is experiencing at this time:
• Tiger Woods is confessing his sexual addiction
• The Catholic Church is admitting the child abuse
The only way for both Tiger Woods and the Catholic Church to survive is to face the world with what they did and be totally honest about it. Honestly, I would not like to be either Tiger woods or the Pope at this time.
How shameful can it be to admit to the whole world what you have done completely wrong and beg for forgiveness. This certainly takes a lot more guts than confessing to your teacher.
I honer both the Pope and Tiger woods for the great example they have set for the world and hope that many more people will stand up and heal themselves and others physically, mentally and spiritually.

Ok, I’ll admit I don’t play this as much as I should (I’ll even go weeks without touching it), but for the times I practice, it’s very sweet sounding. It takes a little time to break it in so you can bend notes, but it’s a great starter harp that goes easy on your wallet.

I’m new to the whole harmonica thing. But this one seems to be popular and the price is about 1/2 what my local music store sells em for. I bought a CD and book from Borders that came with a harmonica… and after playing a bit, I can definitely tell the difference (and feel it too). I’m hoping to get good enough to lure mice away from my neighborhood, but so far I can only play the first part of the star wars theme and some jingle bells.

This is with the manufacturer. I have 2 of these and one of the draw holes will not produce a sound in either one.

So, the products is awesome. Really lovely. Great for the money. Awesome to learn on. I just wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a girlfriend they care about.
See, I was dating this girl. We had been together for six years. She was the love of my life. The most important thing in the Universe to me. Anyway, I got this harmonica behind her back. I wanted to get good at it, then impress her. Well, that didn’t last long. I popped it out and showed her what I had got and she loved it. In fact, we both got a little more into music because of it. Blues to be precise. What I had to be blue about back then…. I don’t know. Not really anything.
We got in this rut where I was working and going to college every single day. I really didn’t have any time. I’d play the harmonica on my security job, and was getting pretty good! Great product! I recommend youtube videos for lessons. Anyhow, my girlfriend had a lot of time on her hands, and not a lot of friends. I eventually convinced her to rekindle her relationship with an old girlfriend. They’d hit the bars on the weekends, and I stayed at work doing security.
My job relief thought I was insane. I explained to him though that six years was a long time, and I trusted her with my life. With everything. Even then, I knew I sounded incredibly naive. I was proud though. Proud of her. Proud of me. We were special. We were important. It was us, and THEN the world. Nothing comes between that.
Her blues thing got kind of important to her, but she never wanted me to come out with her. No big deal. She was with a bunch of girls, and I respected that space. A month later, she slept with a 30 year-old recovering meth addict blues band guy from one of the bars. She was 21. I was 22.
It hurt.
It still hurts. To fall asleep, I have to pass out. This means I stay up for days haunted by memory. Then I pass out for 10 hours of nightmares. She cheated on me July 4th of 2009. It’s May 12th of 1010. I’m two months from the anniversary of that night. She’s with a different guy now. I loved her. I say that every day. It’s automatic now. A pout that escapes my thoughts, to my voice, every single day. It happens before I can realize I’m going to say something. I never realize I’ve said it, until it’s past my lips. I loved her. I loved her.
I don’t care who you are, what you do, or how important she says you are to her. A 30 year old hipster with a harmonica can make your girlfriend think you’re holding her back from her life. You want to learn the blues? Go right ahead. Buy it. Just be prepared to sing em’.
Be prepared, to sing the blues.

Primarily, I use a burnisher for honing the edges of a card scraper. I’ve tried screwdriver shanks, tire stems and the what not, but nothing beats a burnisher for making a l asting edge. The Crown is long enough to handle comfortably, has an ergonomic grip, and preforms flawlessly with some honing oil.

In 1968, when I got back from Vietnam and went back to college, my first Philosophy course used the first edition of this work as a supplemental text. It worked so well that I consulted it all the way through my undergraduate education. In 1978, when I got my first job teaching Philosophy, I chose to incorporate what was then the third edition in my Introductory classes. Good books tend to last and go into reprints and newer editions. I have used every subsequent edition and, at this time (2004), I am using the ninth edition of INVITATION TO PHILOSOPHY — and I plan to stay with every newest edition of the text until I retire. It works!!!

This book is a pain. The author can’t get to the point of what he is talking about. He gives points of view of deferent people but never gives enough so you can get what he is talking about. I find it hard to understand the subject because of the lack of clear definitions. As a student I find this book hot for the resale. The worst part is I love the class I just can’t stand the book.
Just my two cents.

What a waste of money. The very title itself is misleading, as well as horribly arrogant. This book is certainly not worth its price.
First of all, there’s a heavy air of religious overtone throughout the book. The author implies that the reader must “move beyond philosophical speculation into the arena of personal commitment (through religion)”. Philosophy is a creature of its own right; it does not need to be saddled by religion.
Secondly, the author claims that there are only 3 branches of philosophy: Axiology-ethics (yes, it’s been lumped together), epistomology, and metaphysics. To correct the author: there are SIX branches of philosophy. That’s half the branches he chopped away! What’d he do, pay attention to half his philosophy class?
This book is also heavily ethics-skewed, from page one to back cover. This is an incredibly poor introduction to philosophy; if you’re going to learn the field, get a book that at LEAST talks about all SIX of the branches.
A book I reccomend is “Archetypes of Wisdom: An Introduction to Philosophy” by Soccio.
This [stuff] deserves no stars – but, it recieves one not because of the mandatory Amazon.com standard, but because it at least doesn’t use 25 cent words.

Book was required for my Philosophy class. It arrived fast and I actually learned a lot from it. It was well written.
